David Luiz is a great defender and a very good prospect but 21,5M ... What the hell they are thinking in England ??? They are spending too much ....

Carrol isnt worth more than 18M to me (prices in euros) :)

I think there are several factors influencing the price..
- the transfer was made so late, basically in the last hour
- I am sure he would have been cheaper in the summer transfer time not in the winter break
- he is young, age is on his side

sure, but those factors wont double his price ;)
Maybe alter it 33% or smt like that :)
And come on, he has played 1 decent season. Way too risky, but hey, I dont mind. Aint a 'pool sup :)

not to mention carroll is still injured lol

and he had 5 years left on his contract and Newcastle weren't going to sell for any less.

Liverpool wanted him badly and Liverpool had a lot of money, the owners think he will be quality for the team and will be a great brand in the future. Thats why the price was what it was.

Noones worth that much, but noones worth 1million in my opinion.

and Liverpool had a lot of money

Please, stop torturing my laughing muscles.
Hardly any PL side has a lot of money. They all have tens to hundres of millions debt
2011-02-01 18:14:31
they all are also owned by billionaires who have lots of money to give to their teams.
2011-02-01 18:18:20
also he is english man.. that's one of the factors too.. especially with the new rule ahead. a local player price's a little bit higher in this late 5-7 seasons
2011-02-01 18:39:27
but why dont those peeps filter the debts of their teams then ;)
2011-02-01 21:24:52
what?

If that means what i think it does then they do. Chelsea only owe money to Abramovic, interest free.

Actually, after the Portsmouth fiasco, only 70% of clubs turnover can be spent on wages, and the sugar daddies can't help with that :)

'Pool just got 50M for Torres - they had money :)
