burnley should have won with the chances they had. Hopefully man city tear them apart on tuesday
2010-01-17 14:53:32
lol they bloody should have! gave me a freaking heart attack everytime they went on the counter!
2010-01-17 15:21:29
diouf is nothing compared to ngog!
2010-01-17 16:00:37
What about Rafa - should he stay or should he go?

leaving aside the (allegedly) hefty contract compensation if you did boot him
2010-01-17 16:07:44
Go
2010-01-17 16:13:07
If Rafa goes - Torres goes.
I can see Liverpool in the championship in two seasons. Ugh.
2010-01-17 16:17:16
He must stay. We're just having a fucked up season due to injuries. Torres & Gerrard are playing with injuries since match day 1. Johnson is injured, Aquilani can't handle 90 minutes of play and Rodriguez has to adept also.

It's just one of those seasons nothing comes our way. YNWA and better luck next year! (Although we're gonna win the Europa League of course..)
2010-01-17 16:17:43
We're a fickle bunch, fans - last year I reckon most Liverppol fans thought he could do no wrong.

Just reminds me of the situation with Fergie a few years back, when we finished 3rd, 3rd and he made some p*ss-poor signings.
Most united fans would have been happy to see the back of him - he's past it and all that. But go forward 5 years...
2010-01-17 16:21:24
I agree, I think you probably are having one of those seasons. But Torres and Benayoun apart, most of his signings haven't exactly sparkled... and that's being extremely kind!
2010-01-17 17:13:09
like how kuyt is nothing compared to valencia? :P
2010-01-17 17:53:06
Comparing Rafa's signings to Fergy's they're both pretty shite tbh.

Kyrgiakos, Aquilaini + Johnson vs.
Berbatov and Valencia

None of these have really proved anything.
2010-01-17 18:17:33
lol you might want to edit your statement before you shoot yourself in the foot, valencia has already scored 6 goals for us this season, and he's a very conventional out and out winger, so that's quite an achievement. but moreso is his contribution down the wing, terrorizing fullbacks and supplying quality crosses

berba has underachieved tbh, especially judging by the number of goals he has scored. nice touches here and there aint gonna do you any good if you don't score goals as a striker.

what about all the other flops though, Veron, Forlan, Taibi, Barthez, Saha, Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba, Dong. Then there's the massively expensive players who werent exactly amazing, Berbatov @30m+, Valencia @16m, Nani @14m, Anderson @15m, Hargreaves @ 17m and Carrick at 19m. These are just the ones from the last 3 or 4 seasons. Special mention to Veron who cost 30mil back in the days when massive transfers were rare.

No wonder they're in so much debt really
