Asunto: Champions League 2010-2011

Yep.. but this ingenerate many problems with Uefa's ranking: i believe that our federation should give money prizes to teams who go further in EL and CL.. otherwise in some years we'll be taken over by france, portugal and russia too..
2010-12-13 16:27:00
CL already gives a lot of money to contenders and teams are eager to play in it
but special prizes for winning and advancing in EL would be a good idea

It's kinda sad to see the difference in money prices between CL and EL. No surprise that there are less incentives to really focus on this competition.
There's like 8 times the money to be gained from CL compared to EL.

agree with both of you.. but if Uefa put less money in EL is normal. It's just because of the lower interest of people in this competition: less money earned call lower prizes..

on the other hand, national federations should increase prizes for teams which get finals in EL: it's a matter of ranking and a matter of honour too..

Metalist Harkiv has reached the quarterfinal in the UEFA Cup in 2008... they aren't weak.
2010-12-13 19:48:13
Villareal and español better than Valencia or Sevilla? Is that list yours or sth official?
2010-12-13 20:07:03
These are the standings at this moment of five top leagues. Valencia is 5th and Sevilla is 11th...
2010-12-13 20:12:18
:O

and who made this? FIFA?

Maybe is this because last year result? Because this year Valencia is alive in CL, and by history Valencia is much better than Villareal and Español

Where I wrote that Metalist is weak?

I always say that Eastern teams are difficult for everybody, and I'm sure that CSKA or Zenit will win EL

Dude... that's the league table right now :P

Jiler, Metalist has beaten Sampdoria before in the UEFA Cup (when they've reached the quarter final in 2008), so I was sure that they are still stronger today.

Pity on Arsenal, good promising in future team drew a Barcelona, full of superstars, but anyway we'll have a interesting match, hope Arsenal cross the Barcelona's plans :)

Most interesting match will be Inter-Bayern imo, revenge could be sweet for Bayern cause it's not best season for Inter, leading by Benitez, honestly its one of the worst season for them.

Lyon - Real Madrid is also very interesting. Could Real loose again in the first round? Lyon has been good against them but this season it would be a really big surprise if Lyon continued to the next round.

Arsenal needs to fix their defense and keep Fabianski and Almunia out of goal if they want to have any chance of continuing to the next round. I believe in Arsenal but without any changes it will be really hard.
