Asunto: Champions League 2010-2011

You don't know what good football is.. I can learn from your comments that either you have never played football OR that you weren't very good at it ;-)

To play this kind of football that Barça showed today requires the absolute best on every single aspect of the game. The pressing, the technique, the pace, the stamina, the mental drive, the positional awareness, the coordination and cooperation amongst the players and above all the philosophy.. It will be long before any team will come close to this standard, although there is now an example to follow.

It's nice, but most of what Barca does is futile. Does passes back to defenders etc. Ok, they keep the possession - but so what? :)

They made a couple of nice actions, it's true. But I prefer different football - faster English football when there is an action after action, or even Italian football...which is unfortunately becoming less and less defensive :(

Before RvP went off...how many clear situations did Barca have? 1 or 2? :) Arsenal had one goal in the game - survive without losing goal. When they lost they attacked and got a goal after few minutes. If RvP wasn't sent off...

Id love to see the 1-0 from the sideline. I think it has an offside smell, might be wrong though.

That's right. Dunno why everybody 'hates' Barcas game but the difference between Barcelona and Arsenal is that Arsenal plays good and nice game against some decent teams in Premier League but Barca plays they game against every team. And that works.

Inter was better than Barca last season in both games - once playing offensive, once defending while playing with 10 players because of Busquets simulation.

And people don't hate Barca. People hate Barca's supporters and shareholders who say the same old crap all the time. Every good player in the world has 'Barca DNA'. Every Barca player plays fair. No one from Barca dives. Barca is all fair play. Which is obviously crap, they are same players as the rest and do the same crappy dives, dirty tackles etc.

Ok, you have never played football, am I right? :)

Does passes back to defenders etc.
On the half of the opponent...

Ok, they keep the possession - but so what? :)
read philosophy: if you have the ball, the opponent cannot score and you can create chances. You like defensive tactics? Well, keeping ball possession is one of them..and much more.

Also, I can assure you that when teams don't come to play like cowards and park the bus (Arsenal today and Inter last year), Barça will guarantee you an extremely exciting game. Every single team will have much difficulty creating chanches against a double belt of 9 players..

Oh I did. Quite often :-P

On the half of the opponent...

because the opponent lets them do that. Barca was able to make this kind of passes against Inter in most parts of the field - so what? They made 1 or 2 clear situations...

read philosophy: if you have the ball, the opponent cannot score and you can create chances.

it also gives you a chance to get a counter attack because opponent's players aren't on their defensive positions. :)

You like defensive tactics? Well, keeping ball possession is one of them..and much more.

and playing counter-attack is one of the offensive tactics...:)

Also, I can assure you that when teams don't come to play like cowards and park the bus (Arsenal today and Inter last year), Barça will guarantee you an extremely exciting game.

Inter played the 1st game offensively, scored 3 easy goals. Was quite exciting :-P

lol

i think you're the first one who says something like that. everybody including every soccer player in the world claims that this barca is probably the best team ever, excepting you.

today they played without any real full backs, and about 90% of the game all barca's players were on the arsenals half court.

arsenal not even once kicked at goal.

And yet after 71 minutes Arsenal had a draw and win in 2 games...and I think that if they kept RvP for whole game they would've passed through. Without RvP they had no options to counter-attack.

And English football is generally much faster and nicer to watch, even when top teams play against Aston Villa or Blackpool.

Arsenal isn't a typical English club...

i think you didn't watch the match.

rvp is a complete idiot (and this isn't the first time that he becomes yellow-red for the same actions).

arsenal was really bad. only almunia, djourou and nasri played something: all others looked like amateurs.

I did. Imagine you run after the ball for quite some meters at full speed. Imagine that the ref is very far from you [no time for him to move enough]. Imagine that 100k people around you is making noise.

Can you imagine not hearing the whistle...? Or suspecting that it was a whistle made by someone from Barca?

The second question is not a joke. Few weeks ago reserve gk of Barca, Pinto, whistled in such situations and the opposition player stopped, thinking that it was the ref.

Here you have it

Does Van Persie seem so stupid now, or maybe less stupid...? I don't think I would've stopped.

And it doesn't matter if Arsenal was bad, or not. They won the 1st game, they could've snatched a draw in the second one, or a loss that would've given them qualification.

They didn't need to score and attack untill they lost 1st goal. They lost, then they attacked and scored for 1:1. Then they had no need to attack again - so better defend, ay? And so they did. When he ref disgracefully kicked RvP out of the game they had much harder job to do and since they lost 2nd goal it was the end of the game for them.

Facts are, until this huge mistake of ref Arsenal was going through.

Remember games against Chelsea 2 seasons ago...? Not given penalties for Chelsea [2-4, depends on who judges], very bad games of Barca...and then, in last minute, goal of Iniesta and Barca goes through. Barca played as 'bad' as Arsenal did this time, or even worse...

this rule is nonsense for me and only for that to give yellow card is ridiculous. but i don't believe rvp didn't hear the whistle. and believe me he saw even that ass. ref signalized offside.

.

yeah they won the 1st game, but they shouldn't. it is ridiculous to talk about refs mistakes - already in london barca made 2:0 and probably they would win quite easily.

I'm 30, but I've seen teams with the same (or even better) quality; like Barcelona in '92 or Ajax in '94.
