- There has been 5 occasions where the champions of UEFA Champions League were playing from the qualification round, Manchester United (1999), Milan ('03 & '07), Liverpool ('05) and Barcelona ('09).
Bayern will become the 5th club to do so if they win it this season.

- The lowest league position of any champions league/cup finalists was Aston Villa back in 1982, when they are ended their season at 11th place. Both Real Madrid (2000) and Liverpool (2005) were finished their season at 5th position.
