Asunto: Champions League 2011-2012

Well, I'm happy for Chelsea fans (the ones who were already fan before Abramovic.. maybe 1 or 2 people here on this forum ;-)). I can understand they want to win the trophy, no matter how. So: congratulations!

But I think I speak for almost every neutral supporter that we don't want to see these performances again. Extremely poor game until the 82th minute and it wasn't Bayerns fault. Defending in football is very easy and cowardly, especially when you do it with 9 or 10 men all the time. Yawn. The game was unenjoyable up uptil Mullers goal. When you defend like that, you have no balls.

It may not be enjoyable, but it's still a very valid tactic. You can't fault a team for not playing attacking football. I agree it may have been boring, but at the end of the day, a win is a win.

Also, being an Arsenal supporter made their victory that much sweeter knowing Sp*rs are going to only be on Thursday nights again.

Maybe you don't know, but playing in CL is not about playing interesting football for neutral supporters, but about winning the trophy.

The champions league IS about playing great football, as at this level, teams should be at the higher echelon of there talent, and yes well done to chelsea but please now you have won it, please open up in future, with the 1000 MUSD. You have spent you would expect better, imho!

Chelsea won the same way that Greece won Euro 2004. It was only after Muller scored that a football match broke out, and they were all too cramped up to play anyway.

Not that I'm bitter of course ;)

Great football is not only about great offensive football, but also defensive.

And I'm not a supporter of Chelsea ;-)

It's too many Arabs, too many Russians, with a too much money, with not a real football to go around. Can't you see this is land of corruption?

This is the times we live in, and this is how football dying, heal it and let's start trying to make it worth watch again.
2012-05-20 10:41:35
And too many Americans, eh?
2012-05-20 11:09:17
And where does Bayern Munich get its money from?
2012-05-20 12:23:27
I AGREE WITH YOU!! :) CHELSEA PRIDE OF LONDON :DDDDD JEAAA BABY
2012-05-20 13:25:09
YEES! Thank you Torres, without u this wouldn't be possible!

Maybe you could talk about great defensive football against Barca.. but yesterday it was sheer luck I think. And considering how they played against Napoli, Benfica - not very impressive either. :) Still the old lads like Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Cech probably deserve it.. they also gave it away with the last penalty back in 2008.

So conclusion: faith in football-gods restored! :p

well, i suppose if you sell your soul to billionaire owners then eventually you will win something.
2012-05-21 13:36:31
Shouldn't you be thanking Drogba instead of Torres? He does more in 1 match than Torres does in 1 season.

Qualification games for new CL are ahead. Basel have to play them too this year. Today they will be at the Le Coq Arena :p against Flora Tallinn. Everything but a win would be a surprise.
Otherwise not that many interesting teams in this round.. Partizan Belgrade or Sheriff Tiraspol to name maybe.
2012-07-17 16:03:09
Yeah, Basel should win Flora, but we will see. ;)

Anyway, I should soon start moving to A le Coq Arena. ;P
