Actually all groups for World Cup there are 6 teams. Why you do a fixation about 7 teams. There are 10 Official match NT per Season for qualification to the world cup.

@clarom can you address me bit calm 7 teams group work with fixtures for 8 with one team not playing every round so 8 teams are 14 rounds

For the qualifications to the World Cup, there are 6 teams by groups, there are 96 nations, so with 12 weeks it will be Ok. and more that simplify the calendar for the coach, because there are only two friendly to find.

so with 7 teams that is Ok for 12 weeks, no friendly in this case

rounds system works only with even numbers so groups fixtures are 2 4 6 8 10 12 only
so when you have 7 teams you need fixtures for 8 so you need minimum 14 weeks season
im not opposing all proposed but seems this is minimum to keep NT as they are and maybe in phase 2 go to less weeks ...

with so many games generation i know you guys will work on optimization but in the past with lost users we had problem with match generation will infra will be upgraded as the code? we do not want praying to server to come back we all remember those times

Yep, we will update code (already started) and probably also servers.

In the meantime, can I ask you if the modification invoked by the majority of the CT, that is to make the players' skills visible to the national team coach, has been taken into consideration and if so when will it be introduced?

That idea was noticed, but even at forum it gained some pluses but also votes against (from users that dont want to show skills, and some doubts about "moral" aspect in situations when NT coach can look for opponent players). Hard to say for now, need some more thinking for me how should it work.

Have the 4 NT-s with the lowest ranking play a play-off match in week 1 and give the 2 winners the last spots in the series...

and how that will be fair since all qualified team will have fixtures and play and the rest 2 teams need to play each other whole season ?

of course you can close 2 countries but that is no long term solution if you want to extend with new countries ....

Create 4 new countries?

There's 196 independent states in the world... sure creating 4 new countries won't be a big problem would it?
