Asunto: [GD] Injuries

"only 10% reduction of injuries"???

I thought, that according to stats of Mikoos, there was a reduction of 10% in the length, and 20% in frequency!
20% in frequency means 20% less injuries.
2022-05-04 21:54:21
I think a good numbers of days injured must be 20 days. top.
20 days, in early competitions, means till 6 official matches without that player.

and 20% in frequency!

If, and only if, this was implemented, that´s a good change, but, i think we need a little less frequency.
Now we have 50% more oficial matches... so the Frequency still a little up i think.

everything is plausible to change if dev see it as an improve.
I hope, in near future.

Me personal, I think, that frequency is ok
and if length would be about 50% shorter, most users would be satisfied.
2022-05-04 22:59:04
well if you havd 2 times more official games its not enough ... and adding the reduction of length of the season on top

the issue with injuries was existing even before now is out of control and is visible for almost every one
2022-05-04 23:00:38
and what about the red cards im ok if they do not touch them but to compensate with less injuries at least ...
2022-05-05 06:02:57
I think, first and foremost, they should change how injuries are cured.

According to another Mikoos stats regular top players like 26-32yo cure injury about 15-40% longer than the injury points to at the beginning, so if they would change it to cure the injury in the exact number days it starts with then it would be like shorten its length by 15-40% (and slightly lengthen it for younger players which is even better).

But I also think they should slightly shorten length of injury but also slightly improve chance to get it.

Based on 831 healed injuries from April 3rd, only looked at injuries longer than 10 days; might not always be super accurate (for example healing at age 35 for sure is not slower than at age 36, just not enough data collected, as there still is some randomness in healing), but I think it's good enough :)

I never recognized that the point with exact healing time is already with 22, that's really far from reality. Should be with 26-28 like kryminator said. Please fix that...

But of course it would't calm down the complaints, as most people complain about the injury in the beginning and only a few really check the final duration.

Based on 831 healed injuries from April 3rd

How did you you deal with database? you take 831 10d+ injuried players, then you compare 1 week later the same players ?

Why it's "expected heal for 20d+" when you takes 10d+ injuried ... for example.

Everyday I download informations about players injured on April 3rd, I have a script for that.
I also have a script that analyzes these informations and it prints me info like this:

Expected heal for 20 days injury is just an excel formula based on that percentage:

I only look at data from injuries longer than 10 days, because shorter ones distort results too much. For example let's look at fresh 1 day injuries:
1 day injury is always 1.00000 injury at the start.
Let's say at some age players heal on average 1 day, and there is some randomness, so everyday it takes a random value from the interval [0.80000, 1.20000]
- 50% chance on the first day it takes value lower than 1, in that case injury will heal in 2 days
- 50% chance on the first day it takes value higher than 1, in that case injury heals in 1 day
Average heal time: 1.5 days, that's 50% higher even though they are supposed to heal on average 1 day every day.

In case of injuries longer than 10 days it doesn't matter that much, it's about 3-4% difference.
When my table says that 23 years old players need to heal (on average) 3.48% longer then they probably heal (on average) 1 day every day. They need to heal longer because expected value of the heal time at that heal speed is always about 0.5 day longer than the injury lenght.

wow this information is very good.
I like your script!

Impressive. Didn't expect such calculations when reading the table and titles.

For me, if we measure "expected time to heal 20d+ injuried" i expect that we aim all and *only* new 20+ injuried players on April 3r, not 10d+. Despite all explanation, i didn't understand why

Also, This table is a compilation, it didnt show players data comparison during time (of course) so i certainly miss one step to understand all the process. Or its just my limited brain :-)

Anyway. Good luck for your study.

It's not "expected time to heal 20d+ injuried", it's about exactly 20 days injury.
It's just for better visualization how much that % in column B affects the real world case, so you can read the table and see (without need for additional calculations) "30 years old player needs about 26 or 27 days to heal from 20 days injury"

Also, This table is a compilation, it didnt show players data comparison during time
Yeah, raw data wouldn't be very helpful for average user, so I skipped that :P

I could probably determine the exact formula used for healing from injuries, but I don't care that much, informations that I already got are good enough.

Got it ! Understand your arbitrary 20d reference. But it's really confusing. When you include 10d+ players (in data) we can't expect a 24y player 12 days "need 22 days to recover" :-p Anyway, nice work and good luck.
2022-05-05 17:03:50
Btw. does it go above 100%? I wonder how long would domeq`s player Topór heal an injury. He is 89 :D
2022-05-05 17:20:47
Yes, in extreme age cases it can go much slower.

Check this player, I don't know for how long he was injured at the moment of injury, but on the 15th of April he had 16 days of injury:
https://sokker.org/player/PID/2955159

So after 20 days it went down only 6 days.
