Asunto: Lower salaries for home grown players

2023-09-24 21:47:50
DiBaciu para Omur
Omur, the idea was NOT that ALL young players should have lower salaries but that HOME GROWN (players recruited from a club's own academy) should have lower salaries!
It was like this in hattrick (when I used to play hattrick) and it was also so that every time a player would get transferred his salary would grow, no matter his age! This way "day trading " got slowed down a bit, because some players became simply unattractive anymore because of their extremely high salaries. Players could also be converted into trainers (also a great idea).
Ciao!

Borkos,

This really isn't much different than what I'm doing now. The guys who are 21-22 I've had since 18, 19. I'm just not going to sell off at 23 to make a profit and rebuild from scratch.
The team I am developing right can absolutely win the USA ML. It would be a bit more daunting if I were in a country where the top tier or 2 had 75-80 caliber teams. I would probably have to sell and restart once or twice...but I don't. The best teams in America are about 10-12 points better than I am, today - at their best. One season ago my team score was around 38. Now, it's in the low 50s. The old guys won't improve but the kids are.

Again, though, this debate, although useful in the grand scheme of sokker, doesn't really apply to my feelings on this specific issue (but I appreciate you sharing your team training insights - serious).

I think you might be a bit too optimistic about the possible level your current trainees can reach. Top teams in your country play for 65, you will find that going from 40 to 50 is far easier than from 55 to 60 ;) and there are three teams playing for 65-70 bracket, with quite young average age on top of that

To reach 75-80 you'd have to do much more than restart once or twice :)

I wish you luck though, the fun part is you can change and adapt your strategy as you go
