I cant agree with you, and looking at transfer prices for this kind of players the whole market (99%) doesn't agree wit you.

I challenge you to find magical PM players on not mid positions, for starters...

If you find one, you'll know how much more they will cost...

But that'll be because they have 6 very high skills, no other reason.

strikers are not problem at all - defending, pm and passing are all useful to them

keepers only need 3 skills and other skills are useless to them, that is the real problem

plus keeper skill is trained wayyy to faster than striker skill

Challenge accepted.
I limit passing to 10 in order to not evaluate MID position players.

So the search criteria is:

15-18 pace
15-18 tech
10-10 pass
15-15 pm
10-10 str

vs

15-18 pace
15-18 tech
10-10 pass
10-10 pm
15-15 str

And te results are:

It's better to have a striker with excellent striker and magical PM, than the other way around.

please tell me you're not serious

and if you are serious, please show me your ATTs with low striker and high playmaker

I think he meant more to say that PM is a hidden and undervalued skill, more than his concrete example, however i haven't had such player as Dtox described above. Though for sure a Striker with higher PM performs much better imo. Now, of course each manager has to decide according to their budgets, which striker they can afford. In lower leagues i highly doubt to have a possibility to have a full complete striker, so we need to make choices between ''striker build-up''

a striker with higher passing performs better than striker with lower passing
a striker with higher defender performs better than striker with lower defender
a winger with higher striker performs better than winger with lower striker

etc.

it's always better to have higher side-skills

yes, playmaker is useful for ATT, I'd say it's more useful than passing on every position [possibly equal for winger] but it's not more important than pace, tech or striker

And what´s better for a MID?

PM 13
Pass 13
Tech 13

or

PM 11
Pass 14
Tech 14

definitely 1

Because it is not profitable and not as useful, so people dont train.

what is more expensive?

17 0
17 0
0 17

or

17 0
17 11
0 13

the second one has 7 more levels as a gift.

Edit: I am trying to get a junior that can be trained 4x15 MID + 15 Striker. But this player wont replace my striker (or 2 strikers) and I know it wont be as profitable as If I train a 3x17 ATT.

I'll put it simpler, so you understand my point.
Silvercard21 is right in his conclusion, but it's not the complete point I wanted to make.
The striker with 17 pace and tech, 15 PM and only 10 striker, might be less consistent in scoring, but he will create 50% more chances than the player with 15 striker and 10 PM...well, maybe not 10 PM, cause it's pretty decent, but 5 PM.

If you have a team that can create lots of offensive impulses, then you need strikers who are ''smarter'' then the defenders they are playing against.
You'll create alot more scoring opportunities. They may need more chances to score as much goals as the better strikers, but they are gonna create lots of opportunities more and might, in the end, score more goals than the strikers with better striker skill.
I honestly believe that PM is as important to a striker, as his 3 other main skills!
Why does a triple divine striker with practically no side skills play like shit against equally strong defenders? He's simply not capable of defeating his guardians.
I first saw this when I was coaching the Belgian NT.
We had some triple divine and even superdivine skilled strikers who played very poorly, regardless of form, simply because they had close to no sideskills, mainly due to PM! Cause I also had a striker with brilliant PM, who was boss on the field, when he played. Regrettably he was more out of form, than he was in good form.

I see i bring a BIG Discusion, that´s good.

My experience in 15 REAL YEARS in sokker says:

I USE TO NOT LIKE (or not train) PM... i thought that was no necesary... but now....

I have been with players below 9 PM.......... NEVER PLAY WELL or win something big.
WHEN i buy players ABOVE 9 PM.......... I was Argentinian champion, end 3 times in a row in podium league and National cup.

I like to train Strikers.... i sell all my strikers... THE BEST without a doubt was ALWAYS, those who has more than 9 (Very good) PM... Seriously... in my experience... no doubt...

And i see BIG BIG diference in DEF with high PM... they DONT DOUBT... they just send the ball MUCH FASTER AND BETTER than my other DEF...

So .... PLEASE...
Put PM on strikers... if you are so so so nice... you can put also in DEF...

Without a Doubt YOU GAME will be much better.

I repeat... In MY experience on this game
