Asunto: Training Updates on Saturday

Hi. I'm making this very simple proposal to avoid a very specific problem that, I think, could hamper everyone without seeing a benefit to anyone in particular.

Thing is, if it's Friday and you're training a starter, you don't want to risk him on friendlies games in case he gets injured. The logical option is, well, he is a starter, he plays league games and... he gets red carded on Sunday before the 10 minute mark, meaning he'll lose half his training because the player doesn't have the option to use the friendly to complete the training IF said player wants to risk it :P

So why don't you give this option back? That's how stuff worked before the 2 games per week thingie, and I don't see the benefit on it.

Cheers, and have a good day.

What do you mean by "giving this option back"? Changing the weekly schedule, so the friendly game is last in order?

It was proposed already many times, but they think that the league games would be too close to each other [Friday-Saturday with 1 day between them vs Saturday-Wednesday with 2 days between them currently]. 2x more time to prepare tactics and buy needed players in case of cards/injuries.

Yes. But keep Fridays as the friendly game, what needs moving is the training updates from Thursday to Saturday imho. League games days are okay for the reason you stated.

Thursdays can keep the junior pulls as their "this happens during this day only".

So the new week starts on Saturday essentially. Training and youth pulls > League game > Youth game> League game > Cup game?

Hmm I don't hate it and I do think it allows you to fix training in the event of a red card, but I'm not convinced that's enough benefit. If you were going to change the calendar, there are more radical changes that should be made.

I have to say that I dislike the current setup because it's not clear where the week begins. Is it Thursday with training? Friday with the cup game? It's not Saturday with the youths but it kind of feels like it should be.
At the same time, I'm sure the devs want a setup where people have a reason to login every day. So they're not going to merge training and youth day.

I would appreciate a training update on saturday very much. Currently all my trainees are playing on Friday and Sunday. All opponents on Wednesday league matches are lucky!

That remains under my proposal, as the weekly calendar would look like this:

Saturday: Training update, Finances update, NT matches
Sunday: League matches
Monday: Supporters update, Form update
Tuesday: Youth league matches
Wednesday: League matches
Thursday: Youth pulls, Form update, Champions cup matches
Friday: Friendly matches, National cup matches

So everyone would have something to do, just like today. Granted not everyone plays the dreadful youth leagues, but that's the player's decision. Same with Thursdays if the player decides not to open their youth school (and talking about that, the same players will be placed on TL on the very same days as today) or decides who stays, who leaves, and adjust training slots. That stuff happens in Thursdays, and it doesn't require to move out of it for my suggestion to work.

Another thing that comes to mind is that the overlay we currently have shows Saturday as the first day of the week, so the most important update being on a Thursday feels really weird to someone new. I certainly felt that way when I rejoined :P

So there's something to do every day, and if updates happens on Saturdays, the player needs a vital extra time to plan stuff. And over the weekend! When most of us doesn't work, as opposed to a Thursday when at least I had to rush or ignore my team's issues because I didn't make time before the weekend more than once. Pretty sure I'm not the only one. Or I hope so!

So that's my point. Btw, if I missed something or made a mistake regardless the current schedule, please tell me.

Edit: Forgot one form update.

I like your schedule.
I like the idea of wrapping up a matchweek on Saturday.
The game has changed the way training points are calculated, so adjusting the stats update day is necessary.

I like it.
just one comment, Most players would be sold on saturday ending on monday, that is the only weird thing. BUT if this is combined with someones suggestion for bidding would be perfect. the suggestion was to set the player on announcement with initial price. If someone bid, the auction starts.

This was his point, so your comment is invalid.
All things stay the same, the only thing he wants to change is the training update to be moved 2 days forward. The only ''risk'' you take by selling on saturday is that the player might get better (or worse) at the same day...

I always was in favor of friendly matches as last match before the training update, for the obvious reason.
The other solution was to switch friday with wednesdays match, as it was before the big training change.
The point for the 2 league matches being too close to each other can easily be fixed by moving the sunday match to monday.
However, I don't see the problem in the fact you would play 2 league matches in 3 days. The fact you are forced to let trainees play in league matches to give them enough training and that the owners want to push managers in having a large enough squad for rotational purposes negates this ''problem''

Imo the owners should have another poll on this matter and ask people which option they like the most. I think this is a big enough matter for the managers to have a vote in. And this time, have the poll spread through the pressroom, not on forum. I want everyone to participate the poll, not only the people who read the international forum.
