Asunto: Birthday for players

Edgar Chadwick para Todos
At the moment, all players get a year older at the turn of the season. This has a major disadvantage for youth development: players who start at the beginning of a season have much more time to develop their skills than a player of the same age who starts later. Therefore, a player who starts at the beginning of the season is much more valuable than a player who starts at the end of the season.

Hence the proposal: somehow introduce a birthday on the day or week when the players start their careers at youth school. Then the players all have the same amount of time to develop their skills, whether they start earlier or later in the season.

It's one of the "parameters" that differentiate youth's objective quality. Same could be told about entry age, entry level, talent.

I don't think it's worth it to introduce a birthday week because 1) it would be complicated to code, 2) it would unnecessarily complicate the game.

Instead I would balance the possible entry level of juniors to make entry week less important, and also I would do similar thing about about the entry age, although here my idea is a little different. Higher entry age wouldn't impact the entry level itself, but it would give "exit bonus" to regular skills on youth school exit - to compensate some of the lost training.

Agree to disagree. I don't like hattrick, but this feature already exists in that game since the beginning....like 25 years ago...
It's not our fault that this kind of programming is too difficult for the current developpers in sokker.
And it would help a lot and make the game far more interesting.

I would see this as a positive change in the market perspective. Not overpaid at the beginning of the season as it is now for youngest

Difference with age, entry level and talent is that you already know that from week 9 and onwards the incoming youth will be mediocre at best.
Adding a birthday would increase interest in youth for the second half of the season :-)

I have no idea about the technical aspects. The point would be that the player starts a new year of life in the week he turns up at school and becomes a year older exactly one season later. It shouldn't be that complicated, but I'm not an expert.
Technical issues aside, though, it just makes sense so that all players who show up here have the same development opportunities and we managers don't just have to look at the players who start here in the first half of the season.

I think it's much easier that Juniors can arrive to the school with a higher level as weeks are passing by:

16yo week 01: tragic to solid
16yo week 05: tragic to very good
16yo week 09: tragic to excellent
17yo week 01: tragic to formidable
...
18yo week 09: tragic to unearthly

Remove 19yo Juniors completely, and weeks in the school should be reduced accordingly so that the juniors can't come out with a level higher than superdivine

You beat me to this (although yours is refined more).

I don't know how easy to implement, but to me this would be a quick and dirty temp solution until the major one gets completed.

I don't feel it worth.
I feel better to calculate when a player come up at a junior school and need a better selection for everyone. Nowadays, I kick out a junior if he would come up at 20 age or would come up at 19 age after the half of the season.

The key is the selection. The developers will reform the youth problem...
