Asunto: Auto-Bidding System in Sokker

**Subject:** Proposal for Implementing an Auto-Bidding System in Sokker

Dear Sokker Development Team,

I have an idea for a feature that I believe would greatly benefit the entire Sokker community: an **Auto-Bid system**. It’s a concept designed to reduce stress, save time, and improve user experience, especially for managers who may not always be available to monitor player auctions.

Let me explain this in simple terms and provide some examples:

### What is Auto-Bid?
The Auto-Bid feature would allow users to set a maximum bid for a player and automate the bidding process. Instead of constantly checking the auction and manually placing bids, the system would handle it for you.

### How Would It Work?
1. **Select the Player:** Identify the player you wish to bid on.
2. **Set the Maximum Bid Amount:** Define the highest amount you’re willing to pay.
3. **Activate Auto-Bid:** Confirm your choice by enabling the auto-bid function.
4. **Relax:** Once activated, the system will bid incrementally on your behalf until your maximum limit is reached, whether you're online or not.

### Example Scenarios
- Imagine you’re bidding on a player whose auction ends at 3 AM your local time. Instead of setting an alarm to wake up, you activate Auto-Bid, and the system competes for you.
- If your internet connection drops or you're stuck in traffic, Auto-Bid ensures you don’t miss out.
- For managers in time zones that are disadvantaged by auction timings, this feature levels the playing field.

### Advanced Features
- **Prioritization:** If bidding on multiple players simultaneously, users could assign priority levels (e.g., 0-10) to allocate their funds more strategically.
- **Transparency:** The system would show bid histories and notify users if their maximum bid has been exceeded.

### Why This is Important
Currently, many managers feel pressured to monitor auctions constantly. This creates unnecessary stress and makes the game less accessible for those with busy schedules or different time zones. An Auto-Bid system would:
- Make Sokker more user-friendly.
- Increase participation in auctions, leading to a more dynamic transfer market.
- Eliminate the frustration of losing out due to technical issues or real-life interruptions.

### Additional Thoughts
While the recent updates to Sokker have improved the graphical interface, the **functionalities remain outdated**. Features like Auto-Bid could enhance the game’s practicality and appeal to a broader audience.

Moreover, the financial aspect of Sokker could benefit from better monetization strategies beyond the basic “build a stadium” model. Introducing modern tools, marketing strategies, and engagement features could attract more players and keep existing ones invested.

### Call to Action
I strongly encourage the development team to consider this feature. It would address a common pain point for users and make the game more enjoyable.

If I were to create this system privately, it would be for my personal use or available for a significant fee (e.g., €5,000). However, I would much prefer to see it implemented natively within the game, for the benefit of all Sokker managers.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and hopefully seeing this idea become a reality.

Best regards,
Maonta (Motricala Anatol)
P.S. With subscription prices rising, users are expecting meaningful enhancements like this. Let’s make Sokker a more accessible and enjoyable game for everyone!

Yep. It's a common complaint in England that people are missing out on transfers because they can't be online at the time or they forget.

I can create one of that... I will work on it. And when I”ll be ready I will announce here about my tests.

No way, this would guarantee the richest teams would have a better chance at quality players then they already inherently do.

I am missing some or most of my few biddings as well from the same reason, but it's normal as I am not focused on the game to the point of actively bid one or two or more players every week. Sometimes it takes me a few seasons to buy a player but I don't mind it.

The auto-bidding system would help for such cases, but how many problems would it also cause?

It would have to be too complicated to be built-in into the game or too simple to avoid problems related with such tool (e.g. bidding 4 defs on more or less the same time, but wanting only one of them not all 4 or 3 or 2). Also, probably some abusing or unfairness would be possible etc. And traders would probably trade far better with less effort and real managers would benefit from it in very minor way. Not worth it.

I definitely prefer the way how it is now, although I hate those auctions.

But you should be able create such tool as browser extension relatively easily.

In many football management games, even in the beta version, there are transfers without an auction.

But not a single manager game is comparable with Sokker...

It's a download game, not a browser game, which is immediately not comparable with each other...
It looks very good, but it's not the same in the core.

So, how do I transfer the €5.000 to you so I can enjoy this nice advantage over other users?

I believe it's the least of the issues, the app is fantastic, and the tactics are adjustable like in Sokker.

Sokker is an old game, very old and had almost no big changes over the years, even the "new" layout is bad and outdated, looks like a game from 2015 at best. It's actually weird that there aren't many much better games, it probably shows that it's already a dead market and nobody wants to invest in it.

App games etc. are a different breed, no sense comparing them to a browser game anyway.

As for this idea...

It has many advantages, it would make the prices more equal so the market would be more regulated, it would be easier to buy without being active.

At the same time... are those really good things that we should want? Do we want to promote being less active in the game? Do we want the prices to be completely flat, without a possibility to buy a player cheaply? I don't think so...

It might seem like a great thing if you look only at positives from own side (I will be able to buy more easily / without logging in etc.) but it's also worth looking at negatives. Every player you want will have an auto-bid active so even if you activate yours, the price will simply go up automatically in an instant to the level of "2nd highest autobid +1 bid".

Also... when people start using the auto-bid it might be often a case of players going under their value, since people tend to undervalue the players (everyone wants to buy cheaply) so everyone will set auto-bids for low max price and if people stop taking part in auctions live, then it might be just a matter of being online and making that one bid more :)

Honestly I don't really like the idea, another issue is that traders would be in heaven with this system - now they have to follow every auction live, they lose lots of hours on that (their problem), bidding hundreds of players to get that one who will go under his value. I don't think it would be good for the game just to let them make 100 autobids for the weekend and wait if they get someone for low value.

Sokker will die like this.
Striker Manager is available for download on Steam.
2024-12-28 12:43:54
It's already dead for many years

Yes, it's available for download, what about it? As I'm saying, that's a completely different category of games, you can as well compare sokker to FM or Facebook games.
