Asunto: [NT] Island - Honduras

We are facing Honduras this weekend in the third round of the Mini World Cup.
We have never played them before so we don´t know much about them but they lost 7-0 in both previous matches against Australia and South Africa.

South Africa plays their match 12.00 so we have that result to go for. I will prepare 2 different tactics depending on the outcome, one safe and one if we have too win by many goals.

Australia won over South Africa earlier today so we have great chance to go through today.
I had a meeting with Dybdal, discussing our tactic, i wanted to go safe but he said:
"Hey, we will keep it safe in the back, let the boys score some goals instead!"

As U see we play with a 3-5-2 formation today, we will own the midfield and put pressure on the Honduras defence, hopefully we will score some goals as well.

Goalkeeper:
Veigar is keeping the goal today, i am excpeting some long shots maybe and he has the ability to block all of them.

Defenders:
Even Dybdal, Atli Már Thomasson and Finn Sjøberg will keep the penalty area free from Honduras strikers today..

Midfield:
We have Kristoffersson as defensive mid, then Haraldsson and Ludvigsen as central mids, Saemundsson plays offensive mid and Sturlaugsson take the winger place.

Strikers:
On top we have Jon Bjelland and Róbert Ingibergsson. Bjelland did a great match last week and Ingibergsson has been choosen to take care of Kristinns passes from the wingposition.

We shall go out and fight for a victory today… again…

Yes, and the draw was pretty close.

That`s not important anymore, at least Island is through to 1/8 finals.

Yepp, Sigurtsteinsson saved us i would say.
We created a lot of chanses but we have problems to score...

And Vilpu... why do the wingers often pass backwards instead of towards the penalty area?

Beats me. I noticed the same thing too. The simplest explanation is that they need better skills.

Next match will be against Austria.

They have a really good team, just missed the WC qualification, one point behind Canada...
