Asunto: Promoting Sokker for Islandic users

Sokker will try to get bigger and there will be a big promotion handled by the Sokkerstaff.
They have choosen to start with all countries with more then 200 users, see below.
Island has just 24 users and we really need to groove...
I need 1 user that spekas/reads both Islandic and English very good that can help us.
U will be part of the Linguist staff, same as i am for Sweden and U will get some text in English to write in Islandic, then the Sokkerstaff will promote this on the web, don´t ask me how ;D
Any volounteer?


Shortly we will be joining in a concerted effort to increase the promotion done in various places. Some of the promotion work will be done automatically, but we would also like to have one user from every county (excluding Poland) responsible for leading the effort for their country. Likely we should have one of these participating for each country of > 200 users (although < 200 would be welcome as well if we can find an appropriate person).

They will get language rights and access to linquists forum. They would search for forums, add prepared texts in catalogues, edit the text for their language or to improve its interest to people from their country, etc.

I'm opening this first here to see if we can get a current staff member who wants to take on this additional role (or extension of their current role). If we can't find someone from a country, i'm going to ask the staff that know the people in that country well to recommend someone based on forum participation etc.

I wonder wether you have any neewbie information in Islandic?
It´s always nice to get a welcome mail with some information how the game works and where to find help.

In sweden we get information regarding the new users and then they get a welcome message telling them that they should read the forum and don´t be afraid of asking questions. We also give them a link where they can read about the most important things, this will be updated into swedish for our users.

I have been spamming anoHTer game, let´s see if we get some more iclandic users in the coming days.

I tried that too in the past. Few users joined as far as I remember.

I´ll guess there won´t be many but we are down to 22 atm... it will be a problem in the future, at least for the NT.
I think the best would be if some icelandic users took the time to translate the english version to Icelandic.
