Hmm, I think we had better tactic and better chances to score, but we lost: Ísland - Indonesia 0-1.
Friðbjörnsson's early red card was bad for us and Eysteinsson's poor form took lot from our scoring.

Group C third round match against Bulgaria. Their ranking is 32. and manager is Decho.
League table before this match:
Looks ok now, but without win we drop fast below Uruguay and Bulgaria. Of cource Bulgaria has +10 better average marks and that's huge mountain to climb. We had great battle against Bulgaria when we played friendly game (we lost 3-2). But now it's totally different game.
We got little injury and form problems. Lineup is secret, but here is some tips.
Edvinsson and Numason (slight) are injured. Bjarkason has low form and that's why his place is on the bench. Björn Friðbjörnsson is suspended.

Damn.... today we had a chance to beat Bulgaria, but yesterday I changed my tactic little bit. I tought they might use a winger - so I put wingbacks wider than it was before. Bulgaria used that space and got too many open opportunities. This time our goalie didn't catch those breakaways. Too many easy goals - even when our defence line was in great form.
You are doing great job. I think everybody read all you write even so the answears are to few. So keep going!

I would like to think that we have chances to challenge Poland. Polish managers poll has predicted that we lost clearly and we can't score even one goal against them. But we can! ;=)
Our tactic must be perfect and we need lot of luck. We don't have any pressure here - polish manager brokus holds them all.

Sokker didn't give any chances against Poland today - three red cards for example.
When game started our divine defenders loose allmost all struggles and tackles. Poland players were skill monsters...
We had couple breaktroughs, but opponents goalie saved Yngvarsson's shots.

Kypros have used low defence line, but when balls comes to their side of the pitch - they push up very hard. This tactic was used against tougher countries - so this tactic may change. Against Jamaica they played totally differently.
We have three red cards (Frostason, Numason and Saemundsson). Important players.

Three points were important for us, but 5 red cards in last two games... it's just too much! Iceland is not a violent national team! :=)
We started very strong and Traustason found Yngvarsson's head nicely with his passes. 7 minutes were played and score was 2-0.
Game was in our control. After first red card we lost our strong combination play, but we defended well. 5 minutes was left when Bjarnarsson got his second yellow card. Kypros used their penalty kick, but their time ran out.

Interesting match against Icelands former NT-coach cambrant and his Sweden NT team! ;=)
This match will be played with U24-players. Little problems finding enough players - fortunately cambrant allowed that our bench goalie is over 24 years old.
Sweden has played great games in world cup qualifyings and their star is really rising now.
