Friendly U27: Ísland - Cymru

This seasons first match is against Cymru (Wales). It is quite small sokker country and it has currently 20 managers.

Both teams are playing with U27 players. We have problems to get enough quality players in the lineup. Hopefully our young team gets better quickly.

Group A: Latvija - Ísland

First round in Mini World Cup. Winning against Latvija would be a good start for our journey in this tournament.

Latvija has little bit better average marks, but we can beat them if our own playmaking and scoring are in high level. And of cource we need tough defence line.

Couple first team players are injured from midfield, but otherwise our lineup looks good!

Group A: Latvija - Ísland 0 - 2 (0 - 1)

Great start for our MWC campaign!

Tough game, but few points lead us to victory:

+ We had lot of room in midfield for our passing game.
+ Opponents tactic was quite optimistic and our defensive tactic worked nicely against that, because defense line pushed up and usually left their 3 strikers in offside position.
+ Goalie Þorbergsson played superb game (negative issue was that he got injured after 80 minutes and we played few minutes without goalie!! All subs were allready used...)
+ Eysteinsson scored twice. We had good breaktroughs.

Group A other match was scoreless: Česká republika - Indonesia 0:0

Group A: Ísland - Česká republika

One of the Mini World cup favorite is against us tomorrow. Opponents ranking is 22. Average marks 75+.

We have few changes in lineup - because of injuries and tactic. Goalie will be Vífill Ingþórsson. Midfield we have couple injuries. Jönmunrdarson takes bench warmers seat and is playing at least 20 minutes.

I try to put our starting lineup here as soon as possible - maybe just before game starts. 8-)
