i am going for the middle :)

I didn`t want to do a new thread..so..here it goes... :P

-Again, your players were running too much, especially those mids(bjelland, petersson, Elvarsson. Emilsson). Too bad I can`t make any screenshots. At minute.2 Island has a throwout - one player is going to throw the ball out, 3 defs are there where they should be. But all other 6 players are situated near the penalty are.
It means nobody were not in the middle. There were too much free space.

- You tried to attack more today against Belarus?
You put too many men up front. Belarus is a small nation in sokker, but they have great players. I don`t no if you have watched their previous matches or not.

- Against stronger nations it is wise to play with low defense. There were many situations today where belarus striker took ball from island defender and just ran away.

- I saw you put defender Thomasson to shot set pieces. Better use midfielder for that. Defender has to run much and he loses stamina, and what happens if he does not make it back to the defence and then opponent has good chance to attack. There were couple of dangerous situations today.

-When island has a throw-out, then your player has no one to throw the ball. Other players are far away from him. Put them closer.

- Bent Thorsen impressed me, he has high technique?:P

That is all what i wanted to say.

I've been training Bent in technique for quite a while, so he's got pretty high technique.

I might add what you didn't, that losing 5-0 against Belarus is a disaster.

I agree.

All players especially mids and strikers where placed pretty funny. Maybe tactical experience had something to do with that. But I don´t believe that.

Look where Thomasson is...Next moment he passes the ball. Belarus player gets the ball, and makes a fast pass to striker who is open. And Thomasson should be defending there, but he can`t because you made him to run so much. Luckily the striker was not fast enough and Even D got the ball.


There where many dangerous situations which I pointed out through the screen shots.

Hello guys,
I just wanted to say that I am going to use this thread to talk about upcoming matches. before every match I will make a quick introduction about our oponent. And I reveal the players`names who has a chance getting on the pitch. Unfortunately I can not speak about tactics before every match, maybe our oponent has a spy sneaking in this forum.
After every match i will make a conclusion.

Starting from the first weekend of January we are going to take part from the first unofficial U-21 World Cup.
I was invited also to play in new nations cup, but I refused.

Best GK: Raphael Preiner Magical keeper with solid/very good pace.

Best DEF: Angelo Niederreiter – at least incredible defender.

Best MID: Thorsten Lobstein. All mids should be quite equal.

Best ATT: Jiri Garstenauer – Has scored 34 goals in 35 matches, so he is a big threat.

My first match as Island NT manager.
Österreich is very strong and dangerous opponent to us.
This our first match against them.
They are going to play in WC in two weeks, got third place in qualification matches in the Group A. Both times they won Venezuela, Türkiye and Bolivia.
Also they were pretty impressive against England losing only 1:0.

I have to admit they are much better than us. Because they have 10 times more users and they have been in sokker longer than Island.
There are no star players. All players are quite equal.

I am not going to say what tactic I will be using.
Because maybe Österreich has some spies sneaking around in this forum.
I reveal players list tomorrow who have the chance getting to starting eleven.

After match I am going to make a conclusion.

I even don`t know what to expect - hoping to score at least one goal.
I have to be honest, Österreich players are better in every position.

At the moment we have pretty good strikers. Also nothing bad to say towards midfield - plenty of equal players.
Unfortuntely I can`t use tomorrow one of our best midfielders Gerður Petersson, who is injured.
Our biggest problem is defense - we have only 5 defenders.

If anyone has a young defender in a team, and you are not training him, then send his skills to me. I have enough money, so I can buy and train them.

So everybody, cross you fingers and let´s hope everything goes well.

If you are planning to quit sokker( I hope you won´t), then put all your players on TL.
All players are important.

what about Baldur Ingason (sigurrún) hi is good defender whit one of the best stamina

Today I found 2 defenders with very good def skill. One of them is only 18y old and with nice secondaries:)

Island vs Österreich 2:6

First half was really great. It seemed like 2 equal teams are playing. We lost it 1:2, but at least we scored the first goal against tough opponent. Really beautiful shot from Emilsson and of course great pass from Ludvigsen.
Our goalie Guðfinnsson was like a "wall", he made really good job in the goal. Only one thing bothers me, that our second striker Reynir Þórhallsson didn`t use his great chance to score a goal on the 22nd minute. Too bad that our players, especially our defenders have quite low tactical discipline . Österreich strikers basically scored their goals thanks to that in the first half (haven ´t watches 2nd half yet), because there was too much free space between our strikers, I put them bit closer then they were on the pitch. Besides that I am really satisfied with the first 45 minutes.

Second half started with a little disappointment – Bjelland had a 1 on 1 chance to score his goal, but he even didn`t shot ball. And of course, what happens when you don´t score, you get punished – that happened to us, when one minute later Austria was up 1:3.
Luckily Bjelland used his second superb chance. The end of the game reminded me a real life football match, when Estonia met with Netherlands couple of years ago. Opponent got two easy goals in the last few minutes. Not the mention the fact that our players don`t have high stamina. 4 players on the field had stamina over excellent, other had stamina between hopless! and adequate.

In conclusion I can say that I was quite satisfied with our match. The whole team gets 3+ (maximum is 5). Next week are playing against world class team - Estonia/Eesti.

So have you guys watched the match and what do you think about it?

Well the first half was great...then something (stamina) happened and it got wrong...but nice tactics anyways
