Our next match is against Australia. This time it will be a U21 friendly match. Why U21?
Because U21 unofficial World Cup starts after this match. I would like to try our under 21 players. Basically i am playing with our normal squad. Island NT best players are mostly 21 and younger, only 2-3 players are 1 or 2 years older.

My expectations: I am always trying to win, no matter who is our opponent. Australia should be little bit stronger than us, but I have watched some matches, and borkos`s tactics aren`t flawless. He likes to use one winger, who plays at the same line with strikers. So it won´t be surprise if he does that again. I am going for a win for sure. Their U21 players can`t be that much better. I think it will be close match and we will score on goal for sure.

It`s going to be a very hard match to us, our biggest problems are in midfield. Let`s hope best.

Great match. Bent Thorsen did exactly that what I hoped he will do. That`s why he only plays second half and not the first one.
Both sides had great chances.Man of the match was our goalie Guðfinnsson for sure. Ten points to him. Everybody played well. Guys, just watch the match:)


Next week starts the U21 world cup.

So this is our group. I am pretty satisfied with the results. But it will be quite hard going through this group stage. I will do my best like always. Today`s match against Australia showed that we can surprise.

My predictions:
Suomi 1st place
Currently ranked 21 in the world. The strongest team in group C for sure. We have our first match against them.
I think they will go through for sure.

Uruguay 4th place
I think they are the weakest team in group C - so hoping to beat them. Ranked 60, in the world. Uruguay had a WC match today and only three players who played today were under 21 players. Tactics are not the best ones.
It will be very hard against them for sure.

Switzerland 2nd-3rd place
Also a very strong team. We have a last match against them. So hopefully this match decides who goes through with 2nd place.

Island 2nd-3rd place
Hoping to give a battle to all. Going to through isn`t only a dream. For some of you It might seem mission impossible. I hope we will have lot`s of luck, then anything is possible.
