I will keep this thread using for National Team matches.
On Saturday we will have our first match against strong Nigeria. Their manager is very experienced and plays in Poland.
Longer overview comes in few days.

President CarLos_Wallace took control over the team. 2004-06-13

On Saturday we the World Cup qualification phase will start with a match against strong Nigeria. We have played 3 times against them. 2 wins and one loss.
The last match was month ago, which ended 3:0 to Nigeria. Both sides used their best players.
Nigeria is a small nation in Sokker like Island. Couple of months ago Nigeria had around 60 users, but now it has dropped down to 26. Their nation and NT are much older, then Islands, so they have an advantage. Nigerian NT manager is Polish CarLos_Wallace, who has played Sokker for more than 3 years. This season should be his second as a NT manager in Nigeria. In world ranking they are on the 56th position, ten places higher than us.
Nigeria NT
Goalkeeper: They have better goalie, than us. Diepreye Ukohu should be at least magical keeper. Not to mention Kanayo Ahmed, who I guess is at least divine, but not in the best form.
Defense: Their defense is similar with ours - quite equal. Players to keep our eye on, are Taiwo Nwosa and Davadi Olawaniyi.
Midfield: I suspect their midfield is bit better. Yusuf Nwoke and Rotimi Dombraye seems to be their stars.
Striking: Adamu Anikputa, this is the guy we should really afraid. 46 goals in 38 matches!
*****
It is really good to see, that our players, especially defenders and strikers are in very good form. Not to mention the fact that Olgeir Guðgeirsson is in top shape aswell, those gym workouts have really paid off. Our biggest problem will be midfield. Not all are in good form. Also one of our key players Kristinn Sturlaugsson will miss the match due to positive doping test after last week NT match. Luckily he got the penalty only for one match and will back next week against SA.
I can´t mention anything about the tactics in this point...I am sure it will be really close match with oppertunities from both side.

Typical match, just no luck!
About the tactical side - Negative first. There were some small mistakes. Maybe some mids should have played bit higher. When opponent goalkeeper passed the ball, then our mids weren`t close to get it. Also during the Nigerian throw-ins in some point our players weren´t close to them. Carlos Wallace placed his wingers close to the sideline.
Positive. I liked how I placed players during the throw ins. They were pretty open to get the ball and pass it on.
As you noticed, then one of our wingers played bit higher, than other one - quite often he was open and had time to run and pass the ball. Also defense line worked well. No through passes, which was one of my aims placing the defense line. Def mids job was to hinder long shots.
****
I think we deserved at least one draw point from this match. Imo we dominated mostly, their players were under pressure, but their keeper just saved the day.
Also the goals they scored were stupid.
First goal - typical to sokker, long shot, keeper blocked it, ball bounced away from keeper. One keeper and opponent striker were the ones running towards the ball.
Second goal - If atli mar thomasson would be real person I think I would torture him a bit. Excellent tech + divine form my ass.
Just awful.
***
In conclusion I am satisfied how we played, but the final score just makes me bit angry.

Thanks for the game - Nigeria was very lucky :)
You are welcome, the match was really thrilling:)
Luck/random etc...is very useful in this game.
It would be boring if the dominating team would win all the time. Surprises are positive.
