Asunto: Næsti landsleikur

Tomorrow we will play against Germany (Deutschland) who currently is on the second place in our group.
Last time we we had so much luck against them, losing the match only 2:4. We used both our chances, but Germany scored 4 goals out of 30! shots. This time I probably will be using bit more defensive tactics and hopefully we will get some chances to score.
On the negative side - Sturlaugsson is again injured = one tactical move less. Really sad.

Unfortunately no luck this time - we lost first half 7:0. Some of those goals were pretty stupid. We had 2 very good chances to score. Thorsen missed in 1on1 and a shot from a distance. Second half was better, Germany managed to score only one goal. Shame that our strikers technique isn`t better, couple of time they took the ball from defenders, but those caught the strikers and took the ball away.

How much technique do they have then? Higher than outstanding?

Best ones have outstanding tech.

That ain't much on NT-level... :|

If thorsen would be in divine form, then it would be enough for sure. Watch Island - Polish first match. Polish defenders didn`t take the ball away from behind. Can`t remember the minute though.

If anyone has U-20 Island players, then please update their skills or send them to my mail.

Tomorrow we will have a home match against Srbija.
Last time we played we deserved to win this game. Our strikers just didn`t score. They had too many chances to score..I guess they were afraid Srbija`s divine keeper.
Tactics will be different than the last time, made some chances and hopefully it works. Sad that someone of the key players we have are injured or in very bad form. Sturlaugsson just went to slight injury, Ludvigssen is still in weak form, but he will play 45 minutes. Also Bent Thorsen is starting to lose his form, therefore he plays only 20. minutes.
Stokka is in hopeless form, just a few weeks ago he was in top shape..

I am very anxious to see the match already. We have a chance to get some points, but of course a big chance to lose. They are better, just the tactics wasn´t very good last time. Hopefully everything goes well.

Again we lost 2:3 - pretty weird match in my opinion.

Shots are surprising 7 against 17. They had lot of long shots, their it came. I think all those chances we had very very good. 2 one on one were missed.

First half was perfectly under control. But on the second half, they started to dominate bit more. And finally got there goals. Sad, again no points.

Next time Sturlaugsson should be ok, then we will be stronger. At the moment midfield is our weakest link.

Goal keepers are very important.
Because right now I made a deal we can use two 21y players. If I could find at least very good keeper, then we might play with only U-20 squad.

On Saturday we will have an U20 match against Norway. Both teams will be using two 21y olds aswell. It was quite challenging and in same time difficult to to pick and find U20 players.

Island don`t have as much users as in Norge, so I have to use those we have. Don´t have much choices, but many of those U20 players will play for
first NT in future for sure. We even have some young stars. I am sure it´ll be an interesting match with chances from both sides.

Shame that we can make only 3 substitutions, because we have serious problems with stamina.

Wohooo..2:2 - Nice result isn`t it?:)

To consider the fact that we were behind and still were able to draw. The stats about shots are weird again...Norway had more chances, but we held ball more. 51% against their 49%. Most of their shots were made from distance, no threat to us.

Only thing that bothered me was that strikers were thinking too long in many situations.

I am very satisfied with our midfield. Defense as it was shown during the first 2 goals was pretty weak. And Norwegian strikers used our faults pretty good.

Anyway great game:)

The midfiled was nice! Sturlaugsson played really well. Only the pass in minute 88 was unnecessary... :-)
